St. Marys Area Ambulance Service

St. Marys Area Ambulance Service recently purchased five new Lifepak 15 Cardiac monitors. Each of the four ambulances, along with the Medic 12 Interceptor, are equipped with a monitor. The new Lifepak 15 Monitors have replaced the old Lifepak 12 Cardiac Monitors that were used by SMAAS. The purchase of the Lifepak 15 was an equipment upgrade that was vital to our service and our patients because the outdated Lifepak 12 had been in service for over 12 years. Each of the new Lifepak 15 Monitors were purchased for $30,000.00. The total upgrade cost was approximately $150,000.00. The new monitors have a colored screen and can monitor a patient’s Carbon Monoxide levels. The Lifepak 15 is also use as a defibrillator for patients in Cardiac Arrest. Cardiac rhythm, blood pressure, and Pulse Oximetry monitoring are other features of the Lifepak 15. Assistant Manager, Paramedic Robert Gnan and Paramedic Melissa Lecker display three of the five new Lifepak 15 Monitors. SMAAS would like to thank our members for helping make this very important upgrade possible.
